Role Overview
Step into an exciting opportunity where your technical skills and enthusiasm will help power impactful media productions on a global scale. Designed for both young adults and adults, the Technical Operator role offers hands-on training and mentorship from industry experts. You’ll play a crucial role in operating equipment and managing the technical aspects of productions within our Media Broadcasting Studios, contributing to the success of meaningful global initiatives.
This role is part of our Work-Study Program, designed to provide practical experience in media broadcasting, equipment handling, and live production support. Whether you come with some prior knowledge or are entirely new to the field, you will gain the skills, confidence, and experience needed to thrive in technical operations.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Production:
- Gain hands-on experience with broadcasting equipment through training and mentorship.
- Assist with setting up cameras, audio equipment, lighting systems, and broadcasting software for production.
- Collaborate with team members to test and ensure equipment functionality before production begins.
Production:
- Operate technical equipment during live or recorded productions, including cameras, sound mixers, and video switchers.
- Monitor broadcasts in real-time to ensure seamless execution and resolve any technical issues as they arise.
- Support the production team in maintaining a smooth workflow during studio operations.
Post-Production:
- Learn basic troubleshooting and maintenance of technical equipment.
- Assist with file management and editing processes, including transferring and organizing media assets.
Global Engagement:
- Adapt technical setups to accommodate productions for diverse, international audiences.
- Learn to integrate accessible tools to create inclusive content for all viewers.
Qualifications
- No prior experience is required—just a willingness to learn and a passion for technology and media production.
- Interest in broadcasting, audio-visual systems, or live media production.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills in collaborative settings.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities, especially under time constraints.
- A commitment to inclusivity and the mission of empowering neurodistinct individuals.
Preferred (but not required):
- Familiarity with broadcasting tools or software (e.g., OBS Studio, Adobe Premiere, or similar platforms).
- Basic understanding of audio-visual setups or live streaming systems.
- Prior experience or interest in working with neurodistinct individuals and inclusive programming.
