Workshop Objectives:

Duration: 8 hours daily (including breaks)

Workshop Schedule:

9:00 – 9:30 AM: Welcome and Introduction

9:30 – 11:00 AM: Scriptwriting and Story Development

  • Topic: Essentials of scriptwriting and story development.

  • Exercise: Write a short script in groups, focusing on character development and plot structure.

11:00 – 11:15 AM: Break

11:15 – 12:45 PM: Pre-Production Planning

  • Topic: Importance of pre-production in film making.
  • Activity: Create storyboards and plan scenes based on the scripts written.
  • Exercise: Develop a shot list and production schedule.

12:45 – 1:45 PM: Lunch

  • Keynote Speaker: Industry professional shares insights and experiences in film production.

1:45 – 3:15 PM: Filming Techniques and Cinematography

  • Topic: Basics of cinematography and filming techniques.
  • Activity: Hands-on practice with cameras, learning about angles, lighting, and framing.
  • Exercise: Film a scene from the scripts using different techniques discussed.

3:15 – 3:30 PM: Break

3:30 – 5:00 PM: Directing and Acting

  • Topic: Role of the director and techniques for directing actors.
  • Activity: Role-playing exercises to understand directing and acting dynamics.
  • Exercise: Direct and act in a scene, focusing on emotional expression and direction.

5:00 – 6:30 PM: Editing and Post-Production

  • Topic: Fundamentals of film editing and post-production.
  • Activity: Introduction to editing software and basic editing techniques.
  • Exercise: Edit the filmed scenes, incorporating cuts, transitions, and effects.

6:30 – 7:30 PM: Screening and Feedback

  • Activity: Screen the edited scenes for the group.
  • Dynamic: Constructive feedback session with peers and facilitators.
  • Exercise: Reflect on the process and discuss what was learned.

7:30 – 8:00 PM: Closing and Evaluation

  • Activity: Summary of the day’s activities and key takeaways.
